Fronika holds a PhD in climate change and sustainable development policies from the University of Lisbon in Portugal and conducted research on environmental justice and indigenous knowledge incorporation in polycentric climate governance in the Amazon. She has ample multi-country experience on the science-policy-society interface and holds a transdisciplinary and intercultural perspective on sustainability governance. She has also worked as a facilitator of participatory, multi-actor processes. At the Competence Centre for Planning, Public Policies and Foresight (PlanAPP), at the Portuguese Centre of Government, she coordinated the projects Workshops Science for Policy and Lab2050: a collaborative living lab, and facilitated over 50 workshops and participatory events. As a postdoctoral researcher at the Copernicus Institute for Sustainable Development, she analyzes the link between futures thinking and sustainability governance, providing recommendations for a forward-looking perspective for the SDGs.
