Pamela Chasek is a professor of Political Science at Manhattan College, United States of America. Prof. Chasek is also the co-founder and executive editor of the Earth Negotiations Bulletina reporting service on United Nations environment and development negotiations. She has written about and followed UN sustainable development negotiations for over 27 years. Prof. Chasek’s research focuses on multilateral environmental negotiations and international environmental governance as a means for countries and non-state actors to address and resolve environmental problems at the international level. She is the author and editor of numerous articles and books, including Transforming Multilateral Diplomacy: The Inside Story of the Sustainable Development Goals, The Roads from Rio: Lessons learned from twenty years of multilateral environmental negotiations, and Global Environmental Politics (7th edition). She has served as a consultant to the United Nations Environment Programme, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Forum on Forests, the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (including the Division for Sustainable Development and the Division for Social Development).
